Under the guidance of Shifu James Churches the Nederland branch of Wind Mountain Water T’ai Chi has been active for over 16
years. James has been a student and teacher in the art since 1979. He and Richard Eversley met in Ft. Collins while studying with John and June Wetzel, students of Master Waysun Liao of the T’ai Chi Tao Center in Chicago. Richard became his teacher and friend
during their years studying at the Ft. Collins T’ai Chi Academy, led by Lao Su Dave Mishlove. Additionally he received instruction
directly from Grand Master Liao.
James conducts classes at the Nederland Community Center on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., with
individual instruction afterward. During the summer months, classes are held outdoors on the north shore of Mud Lake. During his
classes, James endeavors to create an atmosphere rich with the life force, in which students can enjoy the unique t’ai chi experience of vibrant serenity and oneness.
